Recently had a phone call from Paul Wyles, an AMSOIL Dealer in out team. He had a missed call on his phone so he decided to call it back. It turned out to be a local Harley Davidson dealership. Since the person who answered the phone had no clue who placed the call, Paul decided to drive on down to that store to visit in person.
After talking with the parts manager and getting no where, the service manager happened along and ask if that was an “AMSOIL Dealer” there and Paul say’s, “Yes I am”. The service manager tells Paul to “get over here, I need you to get us some oil.”
As they say, “The rest is history”. Paul registered this customer as a Retail On the Shelf account and helped them place their order. Who would have thought that a missed call and short drive could turn into a great customer?
Moral of the story is if you are a serious AMSOIL dealer:

  1. Answer your phone in a professional manner.
  2. If you can’t answer your phone have a professional voice-mail. One that includes the announcement that you are an AMSOIL dealer.
  3. If you have a missed call, especially if it’s in your own area code then call them back. Some people just don’t leave voice-mails.
  4. If the call back rings as a business go and visit this account. (be sure to wear your AMSOIL gear, and be ready to help with with  an account or to place an order)
