Great question from an active AMSOIL Preferred Customer.
I’m currently a preferred customer with Amsoil. My dealer is someone I’ve never met whom Amsoil assigned to me the first time I purchased on-line. I purchased $12,500 worth of product from Amsoil last year. If I became a dealer, would I earn commission from my own purchases?
My Answer:
If you become an AMSOIL dealer, according to the current AMSOIL policies, you will continue to be assigned to your original dealer. There is no getting around this.
The second part of your question on becoming an AMSOIL dealer is would you earn commissions on your own products. The answer is yes, dealers are paid on their personal and group volume on a monthly basis. The more volume that you have, the higher percentage of profit you earn off those orders. All activities in your business go towards your monthly commission volume: personal orders, preferred customer orders, catalog / internet orders, downline dealer activities (less any commission they earn), as well as commercial account and retail on the shelf orders.
This chart gives you an idea of a percentage of what you would earn based on the monthly volume.
You can also take look at the AMSOIL Income Opportunities brochure to explain this in further detail.
The key to earning high profits is to increase your volume. You can consolidate orders as well as group ship orders to help increase profits.
AMSOIL offers dealers purchase discounts based on volume. You can save an additional 2-10% if you order $1,250-$10,000+ on a single order. This can help increase your bottom line.
In our opinion, any AMSOIL preferred customer that is ordering $500 or more per year in products should consider becoming an AMSOIL dealer, even if just to defray the cost of annual membership fee. A $500 order could result in a $40 commission, depending on which products you order.
Our recommendation to anyone who may be interested in becoming an AMSOIL preferred customer, AMSOIL Dealer or Commercial / Retail on the Shelf account is to find a dealer that is serious about the business and that is active.
If you are not currently working with AMSOIL dealer, give us a call. We would be more than happy to work with you. 931-801-9401
Lastly, you can always contact the AMSOIL Corporate line at 715-392-7101 and ask for a regional sales manager. They are there to help you find out who your sponsoring dealer is as well as answer questions.
So it would make sense to process in a couple of Big orders to gain the largest commission rebate? As I understand, commissions are calculated on a monthly volume basis? So breaking down the volume that this guy is doing into 4 orders he would get back an additional 20% or into 2 Big orders he would get back 25% additional discount through commission check.

Yes, it always makes sense if you plan to earn the best commission to try to get as many orders on the same month as possible.
Many business owners we work with may use say $1000 a month in products. They do best by purchasing $3000 every 3 months instead of the $1000 a month.
Same amount of points (commission credits) but each credit is now worth more than double.
Note at the 24 and 25% level there is sponsoring requirement. Meaning that you are registering personally sponsored dealers, preferred customers, Commercial and Retail On the shelf accounts to receive those bonus commissions.
